About Delhi

By the time February comes the temperature hovers between 4 ℃ to 20 ℃. Normally it’s colder in the mornings and in the Evenings. During the day it is very pleasant. It rarely rains in February. Humidity Level is fine too. Overall February is a good time.

Cultural Options

Mughal Garden – Rashtrapati Bhawan

Two channels running North to South and two running East to West divide this garden into a grid of squares. There are six lotus shaped fountains at the crossings of these channels. There are two big lawns, the central one is a square with each side being 45 meters and the East lawn adjacent to the building, oblong in shape and about three fourth the size of Central lawn.This garden derives its evergreen texture from Moulsri, PutranjivaRoxburgi, Cypress, Thujaorientalis and China Orange trees, rose shrubs and a variety of climbers.

Roses flower throughout the year. The garden has more than 250 celebrated varieties of roses, which makes it one of the best Rose Gardens in the world.

Humayun’s Tomb

This magnificent garden tomb is the first substantial example of Mughal architecture in India.

It was built in 1565 A.D. nine years after the death of Humayun, by his senior widow Bega Begam. Inside the walled enclosure the most notable features are the garden squares (chaharbagh) with pathways water channels, centrally located well proportional mausoleum topped by double dome.

There are several graves of Mughal rulers located inside the walled enclosure and from here in 1857 A.D; Lieutenant Hudson had captured the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah II.

Lotus Temple

This temple is built in the shape of a lotus flower and is the last of seven Major Bahai’s temples built around the world. Completed in1986 it is set among the lush green landscaped gardens.

The structure is made up of pure white marble. The architect Furiburz Sabha chose the lotus as the symbol common to Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Islam. Adherents of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate.
